Postdocs
Debasish Roy, PhD (TEd LAB)
Debasish is a postdoctoral researcher in the Tedeschi lab. He received his B.S. in Chemistry, Zoology, and Biotechnology from Bangalore University (India) and earned his master in Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from VIT University (India). As a Fulbright Scholar, he was trained in stress physiology and transcription biology in Dr. Maria Hatzoglou's lab at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, US). There, he studied transcriptional regulation of the basal lipolytic machinery during fat cell differentiation. He then completed a short postdoctoral training with Dr. Konstantin Kandror at Boston University (Boston, US) studying circadian regulation of leptin in adipocytes. In the Tedeschi lab, Debasish brings expertise in cellular and systemic metabolism to explore the role of lipid metabolism in neuronal regeneration and repair. Outside the lab, he enjoys photography, painting and spending time in the natural parks around Columbus. Email: debasish.roy(at)osumc.edu Phone +1 614 293 6506 |
Master students
Elliot Dion, B.S. (TEd LAB)
Elliot received his B.S. in Psychology at Florida State University where he studied the visual pathways involved in unconscious distinctions between similar objects. After some time away from academia, a spark in spinal cord injuries was instilled. Now, Elliot is working on earning his Master’s degree at the Ohio State University studying astrocytes in the context of spinal cord injuries. Elliot likes doing photography in his free time. Julia Myers (TEd LAB)
Julia is a third year Neuroscience Major (cellular/molecular specialization) at Ohio State from Pittsburgh, PA. Ever since joining the Tedeschi Lab in January of 2021, Julia has mainly worked on image quantification, mouse colony maintenance, restocking solutions, dissections, and immunohistochemistry. Julia is also working toward a minor in dance and is the President of a student organization called Buckeyes Against Cancer. In her free time, she likes to go to book shops, spend time with her friends, and go hiking/skiing. Email: myers.2021(at)buckeyemail.osu.edu Phone +1 614 293 6506 Haven Rodocker (TEd LAB) Haven is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Behavioral and Systems Neuroscience on the pre-med track. Since joining the lab in the spring of 2021, Haven has thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the entirety of the research process from the initial conception of a research question to the final publication of a manuscript. Within the lab, she has assisted in microscopy imaging, image quantification, writing, editing and other general lab undergraduate duties. Her current focus of study involves the role of motivation in rehabilitation programs following spinal cord injury. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, frequenting her favorite coffee shops, kickboxing, and spending time with family and friends. Email: rodocker.7(at)buckeyemail.osu.edu Phone +1 614 293 6506 Hannah Qin (TEd LAB) Hannah is a second year undergraduate student in the Tedeschi Lab. She is majoring in Neuroscience with a Cellular/Molecular specialization and is currently working on her Bachelor of Science. Since Hannah joined the lab in March of 2021, she has mainly worked on microscopy imaging, image quantification, and her general lab undergraduate duties. In her free time, she likes to bake, play tennis, and spend time with friends.
